Hydra Modmail documentation
Hydra Modmail gives your server its own modmail bot, under your name and your branding, hosted and looked after by us. Your members DM the bot, your staff answer from a channel in your server, and every conversation is logged.
These docs cover the whole thing: buying an instance, inviting it, configuring it, and running it day to day. If you are brand new, start with getting started and work down the sidebar.

Getting started
Buy an instance, invite it, and give it the permissions it needs.
The dashboard
Run your instance from the web instead of typing commands.
Handling threads
How your staff open, answer and close conversations.
Permissions
The six levels, and the category setup your instance needs.
All settings
Every option your instance has, and what each one changes.
Billing and renewals
Terms, top-ups, reminders and the grace period.
Two ways to run your instance
Almost everything can be done from either Discord or the web dashboard, so you can use whichever suits the moment:
- In Discord, with prefix commands (m/set, m/reply, m/canned and friends), right-click context menus, and the buttons on each thread card.
- On the web, at the dashboard, which covers settings, canned responses, blacklists, thread history with transcript exports, stats, your audit log and billing.
Replying to threads is the one thing that stays in Discord. That is on purpose: your staff are already there, and it keeps the conversation in one place.
Getting help
If something here is wrong, out of date, or just missing, tell us in our Discord server. If you do not have an instance yet, you can pick one up in the shop, and if you are a charity or non profit, come and talk to us first because we would rather sort you out directly.
Still stuck? Ask in our Discord server and one of the team will help you out.
